Founded in 2012, by Jacob Crafford-Burger, who has a solid background in multiple design and creative fields such as; Interior Design, Landscaping, Fashion and Textiles, Jakob Interior Design Studio has been committed to offering an all-inclusive design and construction service. Core values of our business are cost effectiveness without compromising on the highest quality design standards. We are able to achieve this thanks to Jacob’s multifaceted skill-set, which includes; creative direction, project management and implementation of all projects.

Facilitating the design process, Jakob Interior Design Studio has an inhouse construction team of highly reputable builders and craftsmen to bring to life the renovation of small projects and to oversee the development of new builds. This team is a standalone service that can be outsourced by other interior designers to execute their design projects. Our construction team places enormous emphasis on quality, extra attention to detail and providing our clients with a final product that is much more than what they anticipated. For both our renovation projects and new builds, we work timeously and efficiently, and for the former we always ensure your most valuable furniture and possessions are well looked after.

Jakob Interior Design Studio has become known for our attention to detail, strong work ethic and of course our bespoke and personalized approach. Over the years we have accrued a high-end network of clients with the completion of numerous projects both residential and commercial in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Jacob Crafford Burger

Jacob Crafford¬Burger is the passionate and creative powerhouse behind Jakob Interior Design Studio. After obtaining a formal qualification in Interior Design with Rita Linde Interior & Design School in Cape Town, he diversified his spatial designs skills by also completing a landscaping course with ElaineScape in Somerset-West. This spring boarded his career into freelance interior design and landscape consultancy work. Over the years, Jacob has gained invaluable experience working with elemental interior and design players such Hertex, Woolworths, D&K Fashions, Essential life and the Aleit Group.

This equipped Jacob with skills and knowledge in textiles, visual merchandising, project management, event staging and management in a wide range of fields. From this molten pot of skills, Jacob’s acclaimed and highly successful Kojabu Concepts was born. This studio boasts with major design and construction feats such as Old Foundry Hotel, Casa Labia by Ideas Cartel, Kunshuis Wellington, Blix Bar Stellenbosch and Eden Huis along with numerous private and corporates covering Cape Town, Johannesburg and the Cape Winelands.

Many of these projects have been featured in several magazines and 1 Melville Road, Hyde Park was awarded the Best Apartment in SA 2018 and nominated for Best in Africa. In 2022, Kojabu Concepts was rebranded as Jakob Interior Design Studio for Jacob to focus on his true passion of creative design, styling and project management. He undertakes the entire design process, from interior architectural design as well as custom furniture, art pieces, landscaping as well as the project management. Based in Paarl he is well located to serve Cape Town and the Cape Winelands where he has built up an extensive network with local artisans and artists working to create the next master piece.

Jacob loves combining old and new with modern art pieces. His work is a combination of eclectic dynamism and collaborates with clients to create spaces defined by a celebration of materials, textures and colour, a precise application of balance and contrast, and stylish functionality.
