For Sonnekus by Ideas Cartel, a boutique hotel nestled along Cape Town’s scenic coastline, our design reimagined this iconic property into a luxurious yet intimate destination. Drawing inspiration from its coastal surroundings, we blended classic sophistication with contemporary touches to create a space that feels both inviting and refined.

The design focuses on bespoke details, with carefully curated furniture, custom finishes, and a harmonious palette of soft neutrals and bold accents. Each room was thoughtfully designed to offer comfort and style, while shared spaces, such as the lounge and dining areas, exude a sense of understated luxury.

By integrating modern functionality with timeless design, Sonnekus now stands as a boutique hotel that offers a truly unique and memorable guest experience.

The beautiful high ceilings and face brick walls lend a feeling of warmth and lived-in familiarity, reminiscent of a Brooklyn (NY) loft.
